THE TRINIDAD and Tobago junior national indoor handball teams will make their debut at an International Handball Federation (IHF) tournament when they compete at the IHF Challenge Trophy Competition in Guadeloupe from Monday until October 23.

Twelve countries will be competing for the title and the TT team Handball Association (TTTHA) believes that the Under-21 national junior teams will compete at a high level as they have been in training for the past four months. some of the other countries competing are Haiti, St Kitts and Nevis, Barbados and Brazil.

The TT teams were selected from the mini handball festivals hosted by the TT team Handball Association in three different zones over the past eight months. The 27-member squad (13 girls and 14 boys) will be accompanied by a management team of eight officials. the officials comprise the president and coach of the TTTHA roger Salandy;

TTTHA secretary general Rhonda Clarke, who performs the duty of head of delegation; national indoor handball senior coach Kenwin Goden and five other officials who will be participating in a coaching and refereeing course which will take place during the games. the Handball Association expressed gratitude to all the supporters, contributors and junior coaches for their time and dedication in making this trip a reality. the TTTHA is also grateful for the support given to them by the IHF through sponsorship and the local handball association looks forward to a continued excellent working relationship with them in the future.
