“Phenom” is a word that quickly came to describe Nicholas Paul in his teenage years in cycling.

 At the National Cycling Championships last month, Jelani Nedd forced himself into the “phenom” conversation.

In what is his first year riding as a Junior, Nedd, tall, rangy, but full of speed, showed he was no juvenile, when he smashed Paul’s national Junior Flying 200 metres record of 10.50 seconds in the sprint.
