SARA WOLLASTON whipped the field to win the Girls Under-20 100-metre final yesterday evening, as the Tobago House of Assembly (THA)/National Gas Company (NGC)/ NAAA Junior Championships began at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
Wollaston, the American-based runner, crossed the finish line in 12.04 seconds, ahead of Skikyla Walcott of Simplex (12.14) and Jada Barker of Cougars (12.26).
However, Wollaston’s training partner, the highly-rated Khalifa St Fort, did not compete in the semi-finals despite having the fastest time in the first round (11.53 in heat two).
According to a report on C News last night, St Fort was suffering with a leg injury and hence opted out of the semis.
