President Paula-Mae Weekes will be among the hundreds of participants taking part in this year’s edition of RBC Race for the Kids. The event takes place on Sunday in Port-of-Spain.
The race includes two runs – a 15km running race, and a 5km walk/run fun run. The proceeds from the event will go to the Caribbean Children’s Cancer Fund and will support essential paediatric cancer diagnosis and treatment programmes at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
Also expected to take part in the event is Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Shamfa Cudjoe.
RBC said in a statement yesterday that Weekes will participate in the 5km run wearing racing bib #1.
The bank said she is an avid supporter of children’s causes and a firm believer in the power of sport.
RBC said it is honoured by her presence and her participation.
Starting time for 15km race is 5.45 am while the 5km walk/run fun run begins at 6.30 am.
Both races start at RBC’s Head Office on St Clair Avenue and end around the corner at Queen’s Royal College.
