TRINIDAD AND Tobago’s Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott will be launching his official line of T-shirts today at The Fan Club, Trincity Mall, Trincity at 2 pm.
TT ’s second Olympic gold medallist will also take the opportunity to meet fans, sign autographs and take photos with fans who purchase his brand new shirts.
Four different lines of shirts will be available for sale at a price of $175 for the first edition.
Walcott’s manager Sean Roach said the launch of the shirts is in keeping with calls from Keshorn’s fans to be part of the young champion’s support as he prepares for the Rio Olympics.
“It has taken a while but we are happy to let Keshorn’s fans know that they can now associate with him and show their support in a meaningful way.” Roach noted that only this week, the TT Olympic Committee held a business and marketing conference in which it sought to discuss ways for athletes to start seeking ways and means of funding their preparations for international competition instead of depending solely on government and other corporate help. “We are happy to be setting the pace in terms of branding our athletes. Keshorn is our own, and we should all be proud to wear him.” Walcott said he was looking forward to the launch. “I am always happy to be with the fans.
They have always been supportive of me, and I hope that this line of shirts will give them a greater reason to be part of the Keshorn Walcott success.” Mikhail Singh of The Fan Club, said The Fan Club is delighted to be part of this initiative.
