Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association( TTCGA) President Brian Lewis challenged Commonwealth Sports leaders to embrace the Commonwealth Games Federation Transformation 2022 vision.
Given the CGF strategic mission to be athlete centred and to develop one of the best governed and well managed sports movements in the world.
Lewis in his presentation entitled Good Governance in Today's Sport delivered at the 1st Commonwealth Sports Summit held in Edmonton, Canada on Thursday 7th October asserted that Commonwealth sports leaders had to change the way they think about sport governance as the expectations of stakeholders in contemporary sport was significantly different.
"Term limitations, free and fair elections and the delineating of roles and responsibilities were key concepts that governance reform must address."
The Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth , and Olympic sport movement leader and a member of the Sport Integrity Global Alliance(SIGA) Ad Interim Council called for a sense of urgency and courage as he called on the Commonwealth sports movement to lead the way for global sport in respect of governance reform and transformation.
