Trinidad and Tobago's U18 female Beach soccer team wrote their name in local sport history by becoming the first T&T Team sport to win a medal and a Gold medal at a Commonwealth multisport event.
They were soon followed by the male Beach soccer team who won the silver medal.
It was also a history making night for Trinidad and Tobago swimmer Jeron Thompson who won his country's first ever CYG swimming medal(bronze).
With one day of competition to go- T&T with 2 Gold medals-1 silver-1 Bronze has exceeded it's previous best CYG medal haul of 1Bronze medal won in 2011 in the shot put competition by Hezekiel Romeo.
For the sixth edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games(CYG) Trinidad and Tobago fifty athletes -27 female and 23 male - is the twin island Republic's largest ever CYG team.
TeamTTO Bahamas 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games(CYG) Chef de Mission Rheeza Grant ( T&T National Indoor and Beach Volleyball player) presented the historic Gold medal to the T&T female Beach Soccer Team.
Grant said everyone in the TeamTTO camp were elated, honoured and excited.
"Its such a tremendous privellege and honour to represent our country. The plan before we left home was - do our very best-give our heart and soul and every ounce of energy . I am proud of our athletes . They gave it their all."
