World Champion bronze medallist Jereem 'the Dream' Richards secured Trinidad and Tobago's second Gold medal in the Men's 200m Final after Englishman Zharnel Hughes was disqualified tonight (Thurs 12th) at the Carrara Stadium.
The men's final ended in a close finish with Richards and Hughes crossing the finish line in 20.12. However, Hughes was disqualified following an impediment in Richard's lane in the final 20m.
Richards expressed his thanks to God and displayed behind his race bib the quote "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength".
Canadian Aaron Brown (20.34) and Northern Ireland's Leon Reid (20.55) were promoted to silver and bronze respectively.
Jereem's gold adds 3 medals to Trinidad and Tobago's tally, two gold and one silver.
